For this month’s Founders Spark we’re collaborating with our friends at Electric Works to bring you a special guest, Paul Singh, as he tours the U.S. on his North American Tech Tour! Paul is an entrepreneur and an angel investor who’s on the road (in an airstream we might add) visiting startup communities and learning how he can help them grow.
Paul is currently the Chief Hustler at Results Junkies, who is leading the Electric Works Tech Tour. He’s also the founder of Disruption Corporation which provides tools, research and advisory services to corporations, angel investors and venture capital firms. Previously, he was a Partner at 500 Startups, a 4 year old "super angel" fund headquartered in Mountain View, CA and has overseen the investments in 525+ companies across 35+ countries.
He has served as an Entrepreneur in Residence with the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy and DHS/USCIS. Prior to Disruption Corporation and 500 Startups, Paul was the founder of a few other startups (two successful exits and a number of failures in between) and spent some time at PBworks, AOL and Symantec.
Paul will be sharing his start as an entrepreneur and share with us the many lessons he’s learned along the way. He’ll also be sharing his experience as a venture capitalist and angel investor, guiding us into understanding the best way to raise money as a startup as well as common pitfalls he’s seen in the past.
We’re excited to not only be a stop on Paul’s Tech Tour the week he’ll be in Fort Wayne, but also to be a part of Start Fort Wayne and Techstar’s first ever Startup Week Fort Wayne. Founders Spark will be one program out of many that will be held throughout the week (October 15-19). The week-long event will be a celebration of entrepreneurship and will feature tracks from diversity and inclusion to legal and finance.
